44 months…

Today marks 44 months since it all began on that warm summer day in June of 2009.  A migraine headache that has not stopped. Pain has been part of my life every hour of everyday. Headaches in life happen all the time. Some are physical, some mental and some spiritual. Life has its ebb and flow – good and bad times are a part of life, and it’s climbing out of that deep dark valley to reach the next hill that makes life worth living.

It has been a day of reflection for me, sadness, confusion, pain, joy, tears and thankfulness. My life changed that day in 2009 and I would have never guessed this is where I would be right now. Through the most difficult time in my life physically and spiritually, God has been a steady presence. I may have not always known He was there but after looking back I can now see every step was directed by Him.

And now, just like God always does, He makes all things new. A few years ago if you would have told me that I would write a book and speak in front of audiences, I would of run away screaming “NOOOOOO!!!!”

But today is different, today is another day to step into His path for my life. To reach out of my comfort zone and help others deal with the pain in there lives. Today I start this blog with no idea where it might lead, who it might touch or how it may help the world. Today begins another step that I never imagined. Out of pain, healing. Out of tears, joy, Out of hope, NEVER! Step into His path for your life.

Ted Goodwin is a speaker and author of the book “Lessons from a Headache.” In June of 2009 Ted was diagnosed with a “chronic daily migraine” headache. Despite constant pain since the headache began, Ted has not allowed it to stop him from living life to the full. He lives a life that is active, rewarding and full of joy. He diligently trained for and completed his first marathon in September 2010, despite the migraine.
