The Light

Had another spike with the migraine today…not fun. I came home for lunch and it started. The pain was so intense all I could do was lie on the bathroom floor for about 10 minutes. I was curled up in the fetal position until I could get enough energy to crawl into bed. No matter what I did the room never got dark enough. Sunglasses, blankets, and pillows…how does the light still get through?

Just like our lives no matter how dark of a place we are in or we put ourselves in, God is always there. The Light is always present in our lives whether we realize it or not. I know looking back; God has been a constant presence in my life.  We just need to remember He is there working everything out for good. It may not be what we want at the time but in the long run we will find ourselves in a better place. Unlike migraines, live in The Light.

Ted Goodwin is a speaker and author of the book “Lessons from a Headache.” In June of 2009 Ted was diagnosed with a “chronic daily migraine” headache. Despite constant pain since the headache began, Ted has not allowed it to stop him from living life to the full. He lives a life that is active, rewarding and full of joy. He diligently trained for and completed his first marathon in September 2010, despite the migraine.

  1. Wow, great comparison..I suffer migraines too and would’ve never thought to take a negative aspect in my life and use it to compare it to something so positive. Thanks for this post.

    1. I had a tough time getting to this point of understanding. For almost 4 years I have been dealing with a “chronic daily migraine.” Now through lots of prayers and searching good is coming out of this. I have written a book called, “Lessons from a Headache.” It is my journey of pain to triumph.
