This cute little brown fur-ball is my cat Spirit. She is my caretaker on days like today, when the pain is too much to handle. She will lay next to me purring the sweetest melody to my ears. Her calm gentle spirit reassures me that everything will be okay.

Spirit is very well trained…or I should say has us trained. She will let us know whenever she needs anything. Her best request is when she needs out. Spirit jumps on our laps or walks on us when we are sleeping and says, “Me-Out!”(meow) It really does sound like Me-Out. This is our alert that it’s time to go potty and she needs out, now! It does not bother us that she needs out because it means no litter box in the house.

This has got me thinking about my own life and my need to be let out. To see the big world around me and that I need help also. For I need a “Me-Out” time from the chronic migraine pain. I would just like to step me-out of it, even if just for a few minutes to breath the fresh air of life again. Not to have to deal with the constant nagging of the throbbing, stabbing and pounding in my head.

I also want a “Me-Out” in my spiritual life. Time to just undo me. To step into the life God meant for me and to stop living on my terms. It seems like 2 steps back and 1 step forward sometimes. When will I ever find His freedom, His love, His forgiveness and peace? Time to pray for a “Me-Out” of myself and for God to undo me.
